Setup Email with a Domain

Cargo does not host email. If you have an email address configured with your Domain, or want to create one, Cargo will need the Domain’s mail records to be added into the DNS Editor.

Connecting a domain with existing email records: If you’ve associated your third-party domain name as outlined here, Cargo will automatically attempt to pull all necessary records required for email. You can check this in your Cargo Account Settings → Domain Names. Click on “···” next to the domain you want to edit and choose Edit DNS. Mail records generally appear as MX records, but can also be A, CNAME, TXT, SRV, or SPF records. If the records aren’t there after following this process, you can add them manually, or ask us to add them in for you.
