Captions (the mountain icon in the Formatting Toolbar) lets you associate text with Images. They will appear below an image within an Image Gallery or when using the Click to Zoom setting . Adding a caption to an image will also be used as an “alt tag” attribute that can improve accessibility (for search engines and visitors using screen readers).
Adding a caption to an image: To add a caption to an image, select the Image in the Page and click the Image Options tool. Add text to the “Captions / alt text” field.
Showing captions: Captions display below Images by default when they are included in an Image Gallery. You can enable or disable this via the Image Gallery. To show captions in Quick View, click into your Design tab and open the Quick View menu to enable ”Captions”.
Styling captions: To change the style of your Captions, navigate to the CSS Editor via the Design tab and search (command-f) for
.gallery_image_caption
and .quick_view_caption
.
